What we collect on humanmachineworks.com, why, and the choices you have.
Effective date: July 1, 2026
Human + Machine Works ("we," "us," or the "firm") helps organizations govern how people and AI systems work together. We hold ourselves to the same standard we advise our clients to meet: collect only what you need, be clear about why, and keep a person accountable for how it is used. This page explains what we collect on humanmachineworks.com, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
We collect two kinds of information.
Information you give us. When you fill out a contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address, and whatever else you choose to include in your message. We use it to respond to you and to follow up about the work you asked about. We do not sell it, and we do not add you to a marketing list without your consent.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we use analytics to understand how the site is used — pages visited, general location inferred from your IP address, the type of device and browser, and how you arrived. We collect this through Google Analytics and through cookies or similar technologies. It helps us see what is useful and what to improve. It is not used to identify you personally.
Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. We use them for basic functionality and for the analytics described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, though some parts may behave differently. Where required by law, we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies.
How we use your information
We use what we collect to respond to inquiries, provide and improve the site, understand which content is useful, and meet our legal and security obligations. That is the full list. We do not use it for automated decisions that affect you, and we do not profile visitors.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the site and our business — for example, our website host, email provider, and analytics provider — and only to the extent they need it to do that work. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, safety, or property. If the firm is ever involved in a merger or acquisition, information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
How long we keep it
We keep contact and correspondence for as long as needed to answer you and maintain our business records, then delete or anonymize it. Analytics data is retained according to our provider's standard settings. If you want us to delete your information sooner, email us at contact@humanmachineworks.com.
How we protect it
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take the responsibility seriously and keep our practices under review.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, request a correction, or ask us to delete it. Email contact@humanmachineworks.com and we will respond.
If you are a resident of Texas or another U.S. state with applicable privacy law, you may have additional rights — including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information as that term is commonly defined. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address above.
Children
This site is meant for professional audiences and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, email us and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
Our site may link to other organizations' sites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and this policy does not apply to them. Review their policies before sharing information with them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. When we do, we will revise the effective date above. Material changes will be noted on this page.
